DRAMA

West End 101

Our most popular and versatile workshop. Designed to enhance the the participants’ night in the West End. Students are taught, in a fun and relaxed environment, the skills and techniques used by professional actors, inspired by the themes of the show are are seeing. Finish with a Q&A with a West End Professional.

West ENd Combat

Punch, kick, slap! All safely of course, as the students are taught the rudiments of stage fighting. They will learn about the relationship between acting and fight choreography. Students discover how fights are devised and hone collaboration skills whilst creating their own combat! One of our most popular workshops.

Making a Scene

Work from a scripted scene, explore acting methods, vocal techniques and character development as the script is brought to life in a truthful and imaginative way. Designed to encourage bold and creative active choices. Finish with a Q&A with a West End professional.

Character Development

In this immersive workshop students learn how to create and develop characters. Using various tried and tested techniques used by actors and directors, participants are taught how to build a dynamic and multi layered character and to identify what makes them tic!

Physical Theatre

This session introduces participants to the variety of techniques needed to devise inventive, physical theatre. Utilising tried and tested methods, this workshop encourages students to tell stories in new, kinetic and ingenious ways.

Improv

This team orientated collection of non-stop theatre games is perfect for high energy groups! After a physical and vocal warm up, the group stays active through team building and improvisational games, designed to heighten focus, creativity and sensitivity to others. An exciting & creative opportunity to invent and discover storytelling techniques.

The Director’s Chair

This 2 or 3 hour workshop Introduces students to the art of directing theatre.  Focusing on text analysis and stage craft, the group will examine techniques for working with actors to fully unlock the play and their performance.  

Shakespeare 2000

To workshop or not to workshop, that is the question! A non nonsense introduction to Shakespeare. Our professional actors endeavour to make Bards’ writing accessible, educational and exciting. A unique physical approach to standing the text on its’ feet and empowering your group to take ownership of the rich, thrilling language. Looking at imagery, tempo, timing, emphasis, body language and practical presentation, this workshop will breathe life into the scene from the play the students are seeing or studying.

Puppetry Now 

A West End show has multiple ways of conveying meaning and communicating different moods and effects. Puppetry is one of those way; it stimulates children’s imagination, encourages creative play and is a wonderfully interactive way to introduce narrative. 

MUSICAL THEATRE

SONG IN PERFORMANCE

Learn singing techniques and the all important skill of of how to act through song with a professional Musical Director, followed by a Q&A with a West End professional. Share all the students have learnt in a performance for a cast member from the show they are seeing. You can suggest a song of your choice or we can pick one for you - it’s up to you!

A Song And Dance

An opportunity for groups to explore singing, dancing and acting in equal measure! Working with an MD and a cast member from the show you are seeing, this workshop gives your group a true insight into a West End rehearsal.

Audition Essentials

Auditioning for the school show? Or drama school? We can help students with monologues or songs that could guarantee that yes!! Students required to prepare a song or monologue. During this 2 hour session your group will learn how to deliver the spoken or sung word successfully and improve their audition technique. Professional and peer feedback completes the session.

DANCE

Step By Step

Learn choreography in the style of the show you’re seeing and experience what it’s like to be a rehearsal room with a West End professional. A fun, interactive session that will immerse your group in the movement and music of the show. It will provide them with new knowledge and skills, plus some serious moves that they can perform again and again.

West End Dance

Jazz, hip-hop, tap, commercial, flamenco - the list endless - you chose a dance style and we’ll teach the students the techniques required. Based in London’s West End, we’ll provide you with a studio and a dance instructor specialising in the style of your choice. Guaranteed to get the energy pumping, these workshops can be introductory, intermediate or advanced.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Make up

Another new and exciting workshop! Learn the fundamentals of theatrical makeup or how to achieve the specific looks creative in West End Shows.  It’s all about the powder and paint!

SET DESIGN

A new addition to our workshop catalogue. Working with a professional set designer, exploring the requirements necessary to solve practical and atheistic issues of staging.

THEATRELAND TOUR

Take a 75 minute guided stroll around the exciting and ever vibrant West End to discover the history, secrets and spooky hauntings of Theatreland. Starting in historic Covent Garden you’ll visit the oldest street in London (and the inspiration for Diagon Alley), before wandering through China Town, down Shaftesbury Ave, to Trafalgar Sq and finally ending near the Theatre Royal Drury Lane and the Fortune Theatre for some ghost stories and some tips and tricks on how to bag the best seats in town.

The majority of our workshops finish with a 30 minute Q&A with a West End cast member or theatre professional.

 

Workshops are 90 minutes in length unless stated otherwise. 

We cover all current and past West End shows. 

A minimum fee applies to groups of 25 or less.
